Vocations

Certainly, vocations include the priesthood, the consecrated religious life, and the diaconate. But vocations also includes lay minstry. Married life and single life are included under lay ministry.

Four sugggestions for supporting the growth of vocations are:

  • Recapture the Sabbath Day for family, rest, reflection, prayers, and the Mass. Only in the last thirty years have we lost the ability to do our weekly work in six days.
  • Remember and reflect on the goodness and value of the priesthood to the Church.
  • Send one or more letters of encouragement and support to one or more seminarians or one or more women in training for the consecrated religious life. A list of seminarians can be found by clicking on Seminarians near the top of this page. A list of women in training for the consecrated religious life is found by clicking on Consecrated Life near the top of this page.
  • When looking at the Little Flower Catholic Parish calendar, pray the Vocations Prayer of the Month.

To get a calendar of events relating to vocations, click on the word Events near the top of the page. To get a list of dates for seminary visits, click Visits.

Vocations Prayer for Priests, Deacons, and Consecrated Religious Life

"Loving God, You have a wonderful vision for my life. Show me the path that leads to you. Help me to use my life in loving service. Bless those called to serve as priest, deacon and consecrated religious life for your Church. Together may we walk in he ways of your Son, Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and our Life. Amen."

Youth or Women interested in the consecrated Religious Life or consecrated Virgin Life.
